The Assistant Project Manager manages a program of projects or even several programs that are usually related. Oversees a collection of projects, programs, sub-portfolios and operations to achieve strategic objectives.
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Project Manager is to be the person who has the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation to customers of the company, helping them to make the most out of the digital tools available and used by the company
- Serve as direct point of contact for performance, insights and strategy
- Manage multiple internal system’s short and long term goals which include, but not limited to training, maintenance, user management, updates, and troubleshooting
- Partner with the Project Management team and the development team on strategic planning in identifying and analyzing system(s) requirements based on use cases and systems rollout or updates
- Establish, manage, and clearly communicate overall timelines, project deliverables, and resource needs related to systems rollout and updates
- Track systems rollout and progress and update schedules on an ongoing basis
- Track project performance, opportunities, risks, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short-term and long-term goals
- Ensure projects are in scope and on budget and escalate to Manager as needed
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document requirements
- Work with other departments on setting up processes and protocols for the integration of our systems
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation plans to be shared with clients, as well as other team members
- Maintain and monitor project plans and schedules with the assistance of project coordinator
- Ensure resource availability and allocation. Delegate project tasks based on individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
- Create and manage instructional documents including, but not limited to training guides and tutorial scripts
