SYNTAX, a software and IT consulting company established in 1994 in Athens, Greece with major clients in the banking, insurance and telecom sectors, is seeking to recruit talented and motivated Trainee Software Engineer. Those who join us will work as part of SYNTAX's software development team in one of the major insurance companies in Greece that developed and deployed the first and most successful online insurance platform and currently planning its next generation customer-centric digital solutions.

Αρμοδιότητες

The selected candidate will go through a supervised, 3-month, self-training course. This training course will take place in a highly motivating environment for agile software development. Through study, practice, expert guidance and collaboration it aims to build the technical skill-set that is required in a competent professional workplace.

Upon successful completion, the candidate will join one of our Scrum teams as Junior Software Engineer.

He/She will be part of a team that develop projects for major customers in Greece.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

1-3 years of working experience as a Software Developer
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems.
Experience working on Java projects.
Willingness to work with Agile methodology.
Solid understanding of object-oriented concepts and principles.
Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Ability to take initiatives while being open to learning.
Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written.

Επιθυμητά Προσόντα

M.Sc. in Software Engineering or Information Systems, with a solid foundation on data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, artificial intelligence.
Work experience as Front-End Developer.
Work experience in relevant sector.
Having attended coding seminars.
Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (React.js, AngularJS, jQuery etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent command of English (oral and written).
Ability to design, implement, test, and maintain complex subsystems.
Very good knowledge of the Java EE stack.
