Responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating and leading a team of data engineers and analysts, designing and developing our data platform and pipelines, and delivering data-driven insights and solutions that support our business objectives and strategy. You will also work closely with senior management, stakeholders, and customers to understand their data needs and requirements, and communicate the value and impact of data and analytics across the organization.

Design, and build scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines using Python and Spark
Advocate for software architecture patterns, efficient data processing, modern data integration and solid data modeling
Create and optimize data models and schemas to facilitate efficient querying and reporting
Collaborate closely with various teams to understand data needs and implement robust solutions
Manage infrastructure using terraform and ensure efficient deployment of data services
Establish data governance policies to maintain data quality and consistency across the organization
Ensure data integrity and optimized storing of data
Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth
Explore and integrate new data tools and frameworks to optimize data infrastructure
Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and reliability

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on building and maintaining our next generation Data Platform following the lakehouse architecture, focusing on data quality, end-to-end ownership, continuous improvement, testing, monitoring and experimentation. Some of the technologies you’ll get to work with: Python, SQL, PySpark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLSgen2. However, we are always looking for the most efficient tool for the job. We are dreaming big, gradually adopting a data mesh approach that aims to derive more value from data as an asset at scale.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
7 years of experience in data engineering and BI, with strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and cloud-based data platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience with building and optimizing data pipelines, ETL processes, data models, and data warehouses
Experience with various data sources and formats, such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, etc.
Experience with data quality tools and best practices, such as data validation, testing, monitoring, and documentation
Experience with data visualization tools and frameworks, such as Tableau, Power BI, Dash, etc.
Experience with leading and managing data engineering and BI projects and teams, including hiring, training, mentoring, and motivating
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
A strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with a willingness to innovate and experiment with new technologies and techniques
