Your role:

As a Backend Developer you will be responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of open source and custom software platforms, as well as integration activities between different tools and systems. Furthermore, you will engage in system architecture design and you are expected to have a broad view of the overall system under development.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of researchers, engineers and experts in EU funded research projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering high quality results into working systems.

Responsibilities

Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment
Maintain and upgrade the software following deployment
Manage the end-to-end life cycle for the production of software and applications
Design client-side and server-side architectures
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
Write effective APIs
Create security and data protection settings
Write functional requirement documents and guides
Participate in meeting

University Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. NTUA ECE graduates without prior work experience are encouraged to apply.
Software versioning tools (git, etc) .
Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python).
Knowledge of databases and web servers.
Linux operating system administration (deployment of applications, security etc.).
Knowledge of web application development frameworks (e.g. Spring, .NET, Django, Node.js)
Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Vue.js).
Familiarity with deploying and configuring middleware solutions (e.g. MQTT, Kafka) .
Advanced knowledge of English (oral & written).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts.
