We are currently looking for a Energy Management Portfolio Engineer to secure the participation of the company's portfolio in the spot markets (Natural Gas & Power) in an efficient, transparent, and compliant to the current legislation manner.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Short-term Forecasting by analyzing market data and running simulations
  • Execute the company's sales Strategy of the wholesale Day Ahead/Intraday/Balancing Power Markets
  • Monitor the real time marketplace for optimal reaction, according to operational business constraints
  • Be responsible for all aspects within the real-time trading environment by conducting hourly purchase and sales transactions in an optimal and economical manner
  • Monitor results of dispatch operations and suggests/implements improvement opportunities
  • Monitor the contractual arrangements associated with power plants operation, Natural Gas and electricity market conditions relevant to the short-term wholesale Market
  • Develop scenarios to better understand how key drivers will affect, Day Ahead / Intraday/ Balancing markets outcomes
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports on market results, trends and statistics
  • Continually communicate all necessary information to appropriate internal and external parties/personnel
  • Investigate and make improvements to market models and algorithms
  • Be able work rotating shifts of 8 hours, including night shifts, weekends and holidays and be on-call

Requirements

Engineering
Technical Analysis
  • A BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Applied Economics
  • 2-3 years of relevant working experience within Electric Power sector 
  • In-depth working knowledge of Statistics & Technical Analysis
  • Advanced level of english
  • Excellent MS Office (preferably excel), Modelling skills with a focus on VBA
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to understand business situations and provide data analysis. 
  • Experience with data analysis tools would be an added advantage 
  • Self-motivation, ability to exercise initiative and quick on the uptake 
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and stress tolerant 
  • Efficient decision making and learning agility
