Basic Information

As our infrastructure and Cyano cloud platform continue to scale, we’re looking for a senior engineer to design, manage, and optimize our systems, networks, and cloud services. You’ll own complex incident resolution, drive automation initiatives, and champion security best practices across the environment.
Beyond the technical scope, you’ll provide leadership and mentorship to the junior support team, improve operational processes, and help raise the overall maturity, reliability, and scalability of our IT and cloud service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and manage servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure alongside the Cloud Engineering team, including the Cyano platform.
• Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of infrastructure and Cyano cloud services.
• Manage backup/restore, disaster recovery, and the application of security best practices.
• Develop, implement, and oversee scripting/automation workflows for infrastructure operations and maintenance.
• Resolve complex technical issues escalated from L1/L2 support; own incident response and escalate further where required.
• Track SLAs and KPIs and continuously improve IT and cloud service delivery.
• Act as technical advisor and mentor to junior team members on best practices, automation, and incident management.
• Contribute to the design and upgrade of IT operations, procedures, and documentation, and train users/teams on new tools and workflows.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents when needed. Participation is voluntary and compensated separately from base salary.

• 6+ years administering systems, networks, Linux servers, and cloud infrastructure, including at least 2 years in a similar senior role.
• Deep knowledge of networking, Linux, and Windows Server environments – Linux administration, Windows AD/Group Policies, public DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPN.
• Hands-on automation experience (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar).
• Data center operations experience.
• Solid knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and telemetry tools.
• A track record of resolving complex technical issues and mentoring others.
• Strong communication and cross-department collaboration skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related fields.
• Must have fulfilled all national legal obligations concerning military or alternative civil service, where applicable.

• Certifications such as RHCE, LFCE, Microsoft Azure/MCSE, CompTIA Security+, or Data Centre Professional.
• Experience operating multi-tenant, customer-facing cloud platforms (directly relevant to Cyano).
• Complex networking architecture experience.
• IaaS, virtualization, and container technologies.
