We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the geotechnical design of ports, marine terminals, coastal infrastructure and other specialised marine facilities in Greece and abroad.
This is a hands-on design role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex geotechnical problems and wants to work on projects where geotechnical engineering meets the marine environment.
The ideal candidate will have 5 – 15 years of relevant, full-time professional experience in geotechnical engineering, with solid experience in geotechnical analysis and design.
Experience in port, maritime, coastal, industrial or other infrastructure projects will be considered a strong advantage.
You will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating closely with structural, civil, coastal and other engineers from concept development through to detailed design and construction.
Carry out geotechnical analysis and design of port and marine infrastructure, including quay structures, jetties, piers, marine terminals, breakwaters, retaining structures and associated facilities.
Prepare geotechnical models, calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications and other technical deliverables.
Design and assess foundations, retaining structures, slopes, embankments and earthworks in demanding marine and infrastructure environments.
Carry out geotechnical analyses related to bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, earth pressures and soil–structure interaction.
Apply relevant Eurocodes and international standards to the analysis and design of geotechnical structures.
Interpret and assess geotechnical investigation data, soil and rock parameters and ground conditions relevant to project design.
Coordinate geotechnical solutions with structural, coastal and other engineering disciplines.
Contribute to the development of projects from concept and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction.
Review technical documentation and provide engineering input during construction and supervision phases, where required.
Participate in the preparation of technical studies, tender documentation and engineering reports.
Develop practical and technically sound solutions for challenging ground, loading and marine conditions.
· Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. A postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Geotechnical Engineering will be considered an advantage.
· 5 – 15 years of full-time professional experience in geotechnical engineering, acquired after completion of undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies.
· Demonstrated professional experience in geotechnical analysis and design.
· Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software such as PLAXIS, GEO5, WALLAP, Slide2 or equivalent.
· Good knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant geotechnical design standards, particularly Eurocode 7.
· Experience in port, marine, coastal, industrial, energy or other infrastructure projects will be considered a strong advantage.
· Good understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering and ground–structure interaction.
· Familiarity with seismic geotechnical analysis and/or soil–structure interaction is desirable.
· Good knowledge of AutoCAD and common engineering software.
· Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
The opportunity to work on specialised and technically challenging maritime and infrastructure projects in Greece and internationally.
Exposure to a diverse portfolio including ports, marine terminals, coastal infrastructure and energy-related marine facilities, with opportunities to contribute to projects both in Greece and abroad.
The opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers with decades of specialised expertise in marine, coastal and infrastructure engineering.
Continuous professional development, including training in specialised engineering software and tools, with the relevant training programmes fully supported by Rogan Associates.
A collaborative working environment with significant involvement in the technical development of projects and opportunities to expand your technical expertise.
Flexible working arrangements, including the option to work remotely up to two days per month.
The opportunity to develop expertise in a specialised international engineering field and to build experience through exposure to projects in different countries and engineering environments.
