Basic Information

On behalf of our client, one of the leading mining companies for gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc in Greece, we are looking for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer. As part of the technical services department, a Mine Planning Engineer of underground mine, will play a critical role in producing practical and executable 3-12 month mine plans and designs based on the long-term strategic (LoM) plan and providing feedback to short-term planner
when deviations occur. The role will also produce the necessary detailed designs and long-term designs required to achieve this target while ensuring compliance to the Company strategic objectives, annual budget forecast and equipment availability.

Responsibilities

  • Designing short to mid-term mine designs for the economic extraction of ore based on the geological block model and the Budget mine plan.
  • Development of 3- to 12-month plans, communicating these mine schedules and plans to all stakeholders, and ensuring the month plan follows the rolling 3-month plan.
  • Completing quarterly forecasts and producing estimate of physicals.
  • Compiling and managing the capital budget and capital forecasts as needed.
  •  Assisting with the development of the MRMR state and associated reports.
  • Liaising with geology, mine operations, and other technical services groups to ensure the tactical plan targets can be achieved and the appropriate designs are created.
  • Maintaining an integrated LoM model with current designs and making the necessary updates based new geological information and reviews.
  • Ensuring that new designs have been reviewed and approved before production begins, and applying the mine standards in designs.
  • Optimizing production through mine designs and production scheduling, creating mine plans and stope file notes.
  • Reconciliation of plan compliance and stope performances on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Filling-in med-term planning and other duties as required, and ad-hoc projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mine planning, design or mining for an underground mine operation
  • General knowledge of Mine Planning package, Deswik is highly regarded.
  • Professional Engineer registration
