Hellas Gold is one of the leading mining companies in Greece, specializing in the extraction of gold, silver, lead, and zinc. For the Skouries Mine, we are looking for a Senior Resource Development Geologist to join the Technical Services team and play a key role in the evaluation, development and optimisation of mineral resources.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong mining geologist who understands how a geological model translates into grade control, mine planning and ultimately real production performance.

Responsibilities

Developing, reviewing and continuously updating 3D geological and resource models based on exploration and operational data.
Performing Mineral Resource estimation and supporting resource evaluation and reporting.
Working with geological data from drilling, sampling, waste and grade-control activities, ensuring data quality and reliability.
Developing and reviewing grade control models and estimation parameters.
Conducting geostatistical analysis and applying appropriate estimation methodologies.
Using geological modelling and resource estimation software, with particular emphasis on Leapfrog Geo / Leapfrog Edge and/or Datamine.
Performing QA/QC on geological databases, sampling and resource estimation workflows.
Reconciling resource and ore reserve models against actual mined and/or milled production results, identifying variances and opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with Mine Planning, Production Geology, Engineering and Processing teams to optimise ore control, grade distribution and resource utilisation.
Supporting both open-pit and underground mining activities, with a strong focus on minimising dilution and improving grade control.
Supporting near-mine exploration and delineation drilling programmes, including sampling strategy and data distribution.
Contributing to Life of Mine planning, technical studies and Mineral Resource reporting in accordance with JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC or similar reporting codes.
Providing technical guidance, mentoring and quality control to junior geologists.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of mine geology systems, standards and procedures.

Requirements

Geological Engineering

BSc in Geology.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in a mining environment, ideally with exposure to a senior/leadership role.
Proven experience in Resource Geology / Mineral Resource Development.
Strong understanding of geological modelling and resource estimation.
Practical experience with geostatistics and geological data analysis.
Strong knowledge of Leapfrog Geo / Leapfrog Edge, Datamine or comparable modelling and resource estimation software.
Experience with grade control, drilling, sampling and geological data interpretation.
Experience in QA/QC processes and geological database management.
Experience reconciling geological/resource models against actual mining or production results.
Good understanding of JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC or similar reporting standards.
Strong understanding of mining operations and the interaction between geology, mine planning and production.
Excellent English communication and report-writing skills.

A postgraduate degree (MSc) in a related discipline such as Mineralogy, Geostatistics, Resource Geology or a similar field will be considered an advantage.
